Below are a list of do's and don'ts for each type of service we offer. If you have any questions that we haven't answered, please reach out to us - we're always happy to help!
Before your appointment
Come as you are! We'll make sure to prep you with a good shampoo scrub and soothing conditioning massage. Don't worry about pre-washing - nobody has time for that and we're not judging!
Before your appointment
Please wash and blow-dry your hair as smooth as possible prior to your appointment. Coming with clean, smooth hair will ensure the most efficient use of the booked time for your appointment. We use Kevin Murphy colour which has the best multi-tonal, ample coverage results on clean, dry hair.
If blonding, the same effort is required as it gives the stylist the best view of your hair and can make your appointment more efficient if your hair isn't curled and matted. If your hair is relatively smoothed out and has been washed within the last day or two - that's fine!
Please note: If your blonding service is a bleach retouch (lighter on the scalp), do not wash your hair the same day. You want a sebum barrier that hasn't been washed away to protect your scalp from being too sensitive. Confused? No prob! Please contact us for any questions.
Aftercare
It's best to refrain from washing your hair for 24 to 28 hours post appointment. And hey - waiting a few days in between washes is always better for your hair anyways! You want the cuticle to close and seal in that fresh colour for it to last.
A few other things you should avoid are:
Always use professional shampoos, conditioners, and styling products. You invest a lot of money into your hair at your appointment so you want to protect that investment with the right aftercare to extend your salon service. Check out the Shop section of our site or ask your stylist - we're happy to suggest products that would work best for your needs!
Before your appointment
We ask that you come with freshly washed, dry hair. If you're looking for curls or a textured up-style, do not flat iron your hair prior to coming in. We can tame any unruly hair but your hair may not hold a shape or curl if it has been smoothed out prior to your appointment.
Before your appointment
Please come in with a clean, makeup free face. This will ensure efficient timing for your service while priming you for your best results.
Aftercare
Invest in a soap-free cleanser and only use oil-free products around the eye and on the lashes. Try to sleep on your back as squishing the lashes can alter the curl and the perm. For the first 24 hours, do not wet them at all and avoid heat. This means no steam, showers, saunas, sad Netflix sessions, etc. If your lashes get wet within that time, it will render the perm unsuccessful.
To maintain your lift:
We know, we know - all the rules! We want the best results from your service and nothing worth having comes easy.
A lash lift should last between 6 to 8 weeks. Book your next appointment after a minimum of 6 weeks to maintain your lash health, any sooner and you risk over-processing your lashes.
Before your appointment
Please come in with a clean, makeup free face. This will ensure efficient timing for your service while priming you for the best results. We don't want those mascara clumps hindering the start of your service!
Aftercare
Mascara? Who needs it now that your lashes are thick and full AF. Seriously, please don't use mascara with your lash extensions. Avoid picking or pulling at your lashes. If your lashes are feeling a little funky or out of place - brush 'em! You'll want to do this daily anyways along with washing and rinsing them with a clean brush. Ask your esthetician to set you up with our favourite cleanser if you don't have the proper kind already!
To maintain your lashes:
Lifestyle will have a lot to do with how well your lashes stay put. Things like swimming and hot yoga may affect how long your lashes last. Book your fills every 2 to 3 weeks to keep them lush!
Before your appointment
Let us know if you have any products on your nails before arriving (ex: gels, acrylics, or shellac). Removing these products takes a smidge longer and we'd hate to see you miss out on a hand massage!
Aftercare
There are a few things that will shorten the life of your mani:
Lastly, moisturize with whatever your heart desires (although we're slightly biased towards Winnipeg's own "Lend Me Some Sugar - Grapefruit Lotion"). Strong, hydrated nails = 3+ weeks of pristine shellac manicures.
Before your appointment
If you've broken any nails, don't stress! Please let us know before your appointment to ensure we have enough time to repair them. 4 or more broken nails is considered a full set.
We love a good nail art inspo pic. If you have something in mind for your nails, send it over! We can discuss pricing and timing, then make your nail art dreams happen.
Aftercare
There are a few things that will shorten the life of your mani:
Before your appointment
Let us know of any open cuts, blisters, etc. before your appointment so we can take special care if needed. Ingrown toenails are a pain so be sure to tell us if you're prone to them.
Aftercare
After your pedi, try and give yourself time to allow your pedi to dry! We recommend 20+ minutes while enjoying some trashy magazines (guilt and judgement free). Add a sangria and fromagerie board to your service for a glorious afternoon!
Before your appointment
We would love for you to arrive makeup free. The less time we have to spend removing stubborn mascara or impressively long lasting concealer, the more time we have for the fun stuff!
Try and make a mental note of what products you've been using, what works for you, and what has caused irritation in the past. Every facial begins with a skin consult to go over your concerns, current contraindications, but we especially want to know if you're currently using anything that contains retinol, AHAs (salicylic or glycolic acid), BHAs (lactic acid), or any other exfoliant (products with grit). If you're using apricot scrub on your precious skin, toss it now and we'll explain how much damage it's doing at your next appointment.
Aftercare
After your facial, drink tons of water. We can't stress this enough! Facials are very detoxifying and drinking water helps to flush out those toxins. Not drinking enough water post-facial can sometimes lead to a headache.
If possible, try to avoid touching your skin and applying makeup afterwards. The longer you can let your pores breathe, the better! We suggest giving your skin 12+ hours before applying makeup.
Hair services
We ask that everyone comes with clean, dry hair that is parted where they want it for their hair services. If you have curly hair and are wanting a sleek/smooth style, please come with smoothed out hair.
Makeup Applications
If you're getting your makeup done, please come with clean, moisturized faces.
All Services
Please ensure there are ladies available for service(s) immediately at the start time and every 30 minutes thereafter to ensure timing is adequately used to meet the required finish time.
We do not have a debit machine. Please make sure that the remaining balance and any lash fees are paid in cash to the artist(s).
